About the position

This position involves teaching courses as assigned by the Provost, Dean, or Associate Dean. Courses may be taught during the day, evening, weekends, and/or online. The salary range for this position is $46,817 - $59,135 for two terms, with the maximum salary based on a doctorate education level and 8 years of verifiable full-time professional work experience and/or full-time teaching experience. The position is for one academic term from January 8, 2025, to May 8, 2025, with a total of 80 duty days. Salary will be determined at the hire date and prorated for faculty hired after the beginning of the contract period. This position is normally for two terms (82 days Term I and 80 days Term II) and will return to two terms (162 duty days) for the 2025-2026 academic school year.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches day or evening classes at assigned campus or other locations in the district.
  • Responsible for instructional coverage of course objectives.
  • Writes, reviews, and updates course objectives and program objectives as requested by the Dean and/or Associate Dean.
  • Responds to the special needs of disabled students and interfaces with the Director of Disabilities Services.
  • Promotes a non-discriminatory learning environment that provides equity for all students.
  • Provides students with course syllabus and submits copies to the Dean and/or Associate Dean.
  • Provides the Dean and/or Associate Dean with copies of examinations as requested.
  • Teaches a minimum of 15 classroom contact hours per week.
  • Assists the Dean, Associate Dean, and Provosts with instructional matters and curriculum planning.
  • Schedules, posts, and maintains work hours as approved by Dean and/or Associate Dean.
  • Assists or advises in the registration process as assigned.
  • Maintains and reports accurate class attendance records.
  • Refers students to student development staff and financial aid advisors as needed.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as a member of College committees.
  • Attends scheduled faculty and departmental/division meetings.
  • Participates in in-service training and self-study programs as required.
  • Assists students having academic difficulty.
  • Stays current in teaching field by attending in-services, conferences, seminars, or courses.
  • Adheres to recertification requirements as outlined in District Board of Trustees Rule.
  • Maintains current professional certification or license as applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the qualifying field from a regionally accredited institution.
