About the position

The Instructor for the Healthcare Program is responsible for teaching students in a manner that promotes academic success and mastery of the subject matter. This role involves creating a conducive learning environment, evaluating student performance, and contributing to the overall mission of the college. The instructor will engage in professional development and maintain current knowledge in their field to enhance the educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
  • Employ appropriate teaching strategies to communicate subject matter effectively.
  • Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
  • Evaluate student learning outcomes and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Teach credit or non-credit courses as assigned and maintain regular office hours for student advisement.
  • Participate in college and program committees and contribute to curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university related to the program being taught.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience.
  • Obtain Program Specific Certifications within 60 days of hire.
  • Technical industry certifications required within 60 days of hire.
  • Complete 2 professional development activities yearly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching or training in a healthcare-related field.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and online teaching platforms.
