Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver engaging instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines.
  • Manage classroom/laboratory environments to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness and relevance.
  • Manage equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for instructional activities.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Advise students on academic matters and provide guidance to support their educational journey.
  • Collaborate with advisory committees, colleagues, and industry partners to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings to contribute to academic planning and decision-making.
  • Promote educational programs, participate in student recruitment efforts, and support initiatives to retain students.
  • Support student organizations and activities to enrich their educational experience.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners to facilitate student opportunities and program growth.
  • Complete program evaluations, engage in continuous professional development, and stay current in the field.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the institution.

Requirements

  • Must have an Associate Degree or higher in any discipline or a minimum of seven (7) years or equivalent (14,000 hours) of experience as a licensed EMT, AEMT; Intermediate or Paramedic at or above level taught with required licensure.
  • Must have two (2) years full-time or equivalent (4,000 hours) of experience as a licensed EMT, AEMT, Intermediate, or Paramedic at or above the level to be taught.
  • One year of work experience must have occurred within the last five years or two years of teaching Emergency Medical Services course work at the post-secondary level within the last five years.
  • One (1) year of teaching experience equivalent to two (2) semesters full-time or four (4) semesters part-time.

  • Experience with an Email system (Gmail, Outlook)
  • Experience with a voice mail system
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google
  • Experience with INFOnline or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters
  • Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course management systems
  • Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
  • Experience with emerging technologies (e.g., social networking applications)

Benefits

  • Starting hourly wage of $40 per course hour of teaching.
  • Compensation for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction, equivalent to $70 per hour.
