About the position
The Instructional Assistant Mild/Mod I PT position at Blackridge Elementary Preschool involves supporting special education students in a preschool setting. This part-time role is designed for individuals who are entry-level and provides an opportunity to gain experience in special education while working closely with children who have mild to moderate disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers in implementing instructional programs for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Support students in their daily activities and help them develop social and academic skills.
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior during classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities offered by the school district.
Requirements
- Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department within one week of hire.
- Entry-level position, no prior experience required.
Nice-to-haves
- Additional training through the Special Education department to increase to lane 4 upon completion.
