About the position
The Instructional Assistant/Paraeducator at Lake Forest Elementary School will support teachers in delivering instruction and assist students with their learning needs. This role involves providing prescriptive tutoring, managing non-instructional classroom tasks, and offering clerical support. The position is part-time, with a schedule of 4 hours per day, three days a week, during the school year.
Responsibilities
- Assist the general education or specialist teacher in instruction.
- Perform prescriptive tutoring for individual students or small groups.
- Manage non-instructional classroom tasks as assigned by the teacher.
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including keeping records and preparing materials.
- Monitor students during assignments and exercises.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of college (48 units) or an A.A. degree (or higher) or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan clearance and TB assessment clearance required prior to employment.

- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
