About the position

The Instructional Assistant-Behavior Intervention position involves providing instructional support and intensive behavioral assistance to special education students, particularly those with autism or related disorders. The role includes administering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) procedures, collecting data on student behavior, and performing clerical duties related to behavior management and classroom activities. The assistant will also help meet the special needs of students, which may include feeding and toileting, and will travel to assigned school sites as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support to special education students with autism or related disorders.
  • Administer Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) procedures to identified students.
  • Assist in the collection of data and monitoring of student behavior.
  • Chart student behavior and progress.
  • Perform clerical support duties related to behavior management and classroom activities.
  • Assist in meeting special needs of students, including feeding and toileting.
  • Travel to assigned school sites as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school.
  • Successful completion of an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or equivalent training program.
  • Three years of experience working with children in a specialized learning environment.
