About the position
Registered Behavior Technicians will work directly with an assigned classroom teacher(s) to assist in the Special Education instructional program. Under supervision, will administer intensive behavioral intervention to identified Special Education students and will perform a variety of activities in support of instructional programs for students who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum or related disorder that requires behavior support.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the Special Education instructional program under the supervision of classroom teachers.
- Administer intensive behavioral intervention to identified Special Education students.
- Perform a variety of activities in support of instructional programs for students diagnosed with autism or related disorders.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent + two years of college OR
- High school diploma or equivalent + AA degree or higher OR
- High school diploma or equivalent + have a passing score of 70% on the District academic proficiency test.
- Possess RBT Certification.
- Knowledge of/experience with the needs and behavior of children diagnosed with autism or related disorders.
- Understanding of appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Bilingual-biliterate English/Spanish desired.
