About the position

The Installation Supervisor at AVI-SPL is responsible for mentoring and overseeing installation teams, ensuring effective project execution and communication. This role supports the Operations/Installation Manager and acts as a field change agent to enhance efficiency and quality in audiovisual installations.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and oversee office installation teams with 5 to 10 direct reports.
  • Support technical escalations from the field team and collaborate on resolutions.
  • Conduct quality control visits during and post-installation, reporting findings to project teams and management.
  • Perform pre-installation site surveys as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage installation activities, including outsourced or subcontracted work.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives.
  • Support and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate installation tasks for audiovisual projects, including cable pulling and equipment mounting.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Travel to various job sites as required.
  • Mentor Installation Technicians through their learning development plans.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards.
  • Proven ability to manage installation workforce activities including recruiting, training, and scheduling.
  • Ability to lead a cohesive team and create alignment among management.
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current OSHA 30 certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience with construction or project management theory and best practices.
  • Minor control system and DSP programming capabilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing business processes and streamlining operations.
