About the position

The Petroleum Inspector position at Camin Cargo Control involves performing inspections, sampling, pipeline transfers, and inventories related to petroleum products. The role requires adherence to company policies and procedures while acting as a field representative to maintain the company's reputation. Inspectors work under the supervision of a Senior Inspector and are responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sampling, pipeline transfers, inventories, and barge inspections including line condition surveys.
  • Conduct vessel inspections under the direct supervision of a Senior Inspector.
  • Certify that field assignments conform to company policies and procedures as well as job-specific instructions.
  • Act as a company representative in the field, maintaining professionalism and dignity.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules.
  • Effectively communicate all aspects of assigned job duties to relevant parties.
  • Obtain, label, and transport samples to the laboratory in a timely manner.
  • Maintain assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensure proper calibration and storage.
  • Measure products and perform required field calculations per API Standards, completing all necessary documentation and submitting reports timely.
  • Perform specialized inspection services such as loss control and confined space entry after receiving required training.
  • Assist in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with good math skills.
  • Minimum three months of inspection experience.
  • Completion of Inspector level training and passing corresponding theoretical tests and field evaluations.
  • IFIA certification after gaining at least six months of industry experience.
  • Valid Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC).
  • Dependable and able to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills to maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Ability to pass company-defined physical requirements.
  • Meet and maintain site-specific requirements mandated by customers and/or terminals.
