About the position

The Inspection Operations Coordinator position within the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) focuses on promoting safety and environmental protection in offshore operations. The role involves auditing and coordinating inspection processes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing guidance to district personnel. The position is critical for maintaining consistent inspection protocols and improving operational efficiency in the Gulf of Mexico region.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Regional production operations inspection auditor, reviewing inspection processes and conducting offshore witnessing of inspections.
  • Monitor the inspection program through database reviews and meetings, evaluating efficiency and effectiveness, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Act as the Gulf of Mexico Potential Incident of Non-Compliance (PINC) Team coordinator, representing the region in various committees and task forces.
  • Manage credentialing for District Field Operations employees in accordance with the National BSEE Offshore Credentials Program.
  • Investigate incidents of employee misconduct and prepare final reports for supervisory review.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
  • Experience performing inspections of oil and gas facilities to ensure operational safety and compliance with environmental laws.
  • Knowledge of inspection procedures and policies related to offshore oil, gas, and sulfur exploration and development operations.
  • Ability to write operational findings reports and Letters of Deficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice 14C.
  • Experience in managing or coordinating inspection programs.
