About The Position

California Service Tool is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist II to join their growing team. This role involves working directly with clients to provide support functions, generating sales and marketing for company product lines both proactively and reactively. The specialist will manage new and existing customer accounts, negotiate with clients and suppliers, and adhere to company sales policies. The position can be based in Hayward or San Jose, CA, or Sparks, NV.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience, preferably within the Tool and Construction Distribution Industry, including cold calling, purchasing, marketing/sales.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Intermediate or better knowledge of computers, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail and the Internet.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Customer-focused with a track record of developing sales and building relationships.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in analyzing data and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Maintains discretion and handles confidential information appropriately.
  • Must be able to pass company background check.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively pursue new opportunities with new and existing customers to acquire new accounts.
  • Develop new and current customer accounts by marketing company product lines and offering value-added services and availability information.
  • Maintain current customer information, including sales contracts, bonded inventory requirements, and contract terms.
  • Provide customers with product information, including pricing, delivery, inventory stocking, backorder availability, functionally equivalent cross matches, and value-added product information.
  • Evaluate open quotes or proposals weekly and expedite and follow up on all back orders.
  • Exercise independent judgment and responsibility for the profitability of resale orders under general guidelines.
  • Evaluate problem accounts or orders and work with appropriate personnel to develop strategies, tactics, and contingency plans to obtain desired market share.
  • Recommend deviations from standard policies and procedures, such as pre-purchase approvals for payment terms, discounts, and freight charges.
  • Maintain current knowledge by utilizing training opportunities for current products.
  • Be mentally present from the beginning of the work day to the end.
  • Attend all required work meetings and training.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures and bring all exceptions to management as they occur.
  • Responsible for sales within a medium to large size territory.
