About The Position

This role provides direct clinical supervision to infusion nurses, conducts field visits, reviews patient documentation, and serves as clinical backup when needed. The position also involves collaborating with operations teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and mentoring the nursing team. It is a full-time, field-based role requiring travel within a 65-mile radius.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with active New York State license in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of infusion nursing experience (home infusion or acute care setting preferred), with both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Proficiency in venous access device management (PICC, Port, Midline, Peripheral IV).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within a 65-mile radius or up to 90 minutes from assigned cases within regional assignment.
  • Daily travel to patient homes, facilities, or team meetings is required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of infusion equipment or supplies (up to 25 lbs).
  • Comfortable working in a variety of home environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical supervision to infusion nurses within the assigned regions.
  • Conduct field visits to observe nursing practice, ensure competency, and provide hands-on training and feedback.
  • Review, approve, and ensure accuracy of patient assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in re-certifications and re-assessments as required by regulatory standards or payer requirements.
  • Serve as clinical backup on infusion cases where no nurse coverage is available, ensuring continuity of care and patient satisfaction.
  • Partner with the scheduling and operations teams to coordinate nurse assignments, optimize workload distribution, and ensure timely case coverage.
  • Maintain communication with pharmacy, intake, and case management teams regarding clinical status, escalation needs, and case continuity.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences as required.
  • Ensure all infusion nursing practices comply with state, federal, and company regulatory standards (DOH, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control).
  • Monitor and address clinical deficiencies, providing coaching and retraining as needed.
  • Support audit preparation, incident reporting, and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge of infusion therapies, IV access devices, and related equipment.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for the infusion nursing team, reinforcing best practices and patient-centered care.
  • Assist in onboarding and field training of new infusion nurses.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to team members in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
