About the position

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, time limitation, and funding conditions. Infrastructure Project Managers ensure effective and efficient management of the project consistent with an established project management cycle and compliance with department guidelines, procedures, and systems; and related work as required. In addition to the functions expected of the Infrastructure Project Manager III, the Infrastructure Project Manager Supervisor evaluates the performance of staff using the City's performance management process to achieve a supportive culture where teamwork, employee development, coaching and mentoring and feedback are prioritized. Work may also include representing the department at public meetings, administrative hearings, City Council meetings, and other board meetings. Also, represents the department when working with regulatory and other governmental agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate ARPA project activities.
  • Ensure project goals and objectives are met according to priorities and funding conditions.
  • Manage project compliance with department guidelines and procedures.
  • Evaluate staff performance and foster a supportive work culture.
  • Represent the department at public and administrative meetings.
  • Engage with regulatory and governmental agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, or a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Eight years of related professional experience in project management.
  • One year of supervisory experience in any field.
  • Possession of a current Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) issued by the Project Management Institute.
  • Five years of related professional experience in project management if PMP is held.

  • Experience in developing and tracking performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Experience in managing contracts and vendors.
  • Experience in developing budgets and tracking financial compliance.
  • Experience in analyzing large datasets and producing executive reports.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and conducting quantitative research.
