About the position

The Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) role at SYSTOLIC involves supporting Department of Defense (DoD) warfighters and government policymakers by ensuring the security of systems that facilitate secure communications. The position requires collaboration with various engineering teams to meet security requirements and enhance understanding of vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with System Engineering, Test Engineering, and Integration teams to ensure security requirements are met in hardware and software architecture.
• Work with development teams to improve understanding of vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and remediation approaches.
• Propose, assess, coordinate, implement, and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with common security tools such as Nessus, NMAP, and Wireshark.
• Experience applying Risk Management Framework and formulating/assessing IT security policy.
• Experience with secure configurations of commonly used desktop and server operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with scripting.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 2 or 3.
