About the position

The Information Security Engineer I position at Seneca Gaming Corporation (SGC) is responsible for assisting in the development and enforcement of the company's information security architecture and policies. This role focuses on ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets while contributing to the overall security posture of the organization. The engineer will work collaboratively with IT and information security teams to maintain and monitor security controls, support audits, and respond to security incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of enterprise information security architecture and policy implementation.
  • Improve the security posture of enterprise endpoints and infrastructure.
  • Act as an information security resource on business-driven project teams.
  • Maintain, monitor, and support information security controls for endpoints and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and report on information generated by enterprise information security toolsets.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and document procedures.
  • Participate in vulnerability remediation actions with IT and business units.
  • Assist with penetration testing and security assessments.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of information security policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in a related Information Technology role.
  • Experience in a dedicated information security role for at least one year is preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, WANs, LANs, and commonly used protocols/standards.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environment, commands, and utilities required.
  • Experience with information security tools and utilities such as network access control and vulnerability scanning.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IT audit processes (e.g. ITGC, PCI) preferred.
  • Some technical certifications (CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft, Cisco) preferred.
  • Experience with IBMi (AS/400, iSeries) environment preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a casino/hospitality environment is desired.
