About the position

The Information Security Analyst I at Universal Health Services, Inc. plays a crucial role in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information systems. This position involves working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical staff to ensure that security technologies are effectively implemented and maintained according to established policies. The analyst will also provide training and support to staff, oversee tasks assigned to less experienced personnel, and contribute to the continuous improvement of security measures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain selected information security technologies within policy guidelines and project management principles.
  • Monitor the resolution of maintenance or enhancement issues assigned by the UHS Customer Support Center.
  • Periodically review deployed security technologies to ensure they provide intended protections efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify gaps in protection and recommend solutions to remediate or mitigate associated risks.
  • Assist experienced members of the Information Security Team in implementing and supporting new security technologies or processes.
  • Work with staff at all levels, vendors, and contractors to ensure effective, efficient, and non-disruptive protections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Security and Risk Management, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • 1-3 years' experience with desktop, server, and/or network security administration in a mixed computing environment.
  • Experience managing and supporting information security technologies such as anti-malware protections, web filtering, vulnerability scanning, and encryption technologies.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and risk management concepts or processes.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory security requirements like SOX, HIPAA, and HITECH.
  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as HITRUST, NIST, or CSC20.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and be detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Information security certification to demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of best practices.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and VB.
