About the position

The Infection Preventionist I/II/III is responsible for overseeing the surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAI). This role involves educating hospital staff on infection prevention practices and developing health system policies to ensure compliance with rigorous infection control standards set by various health organizations, including the Joint Commission and CDC.

Responsibilities

  • Surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAI).
  • Educate employees about infection prevention practices.
  • Develop health system policies and procedures for infection control.
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by Joint Commission, OSHA, and CDC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (e.g., microbiology, nursing, public health) and a minimum of two years of healthcare-related experience, or a Master's degree in a science-related field with less than two years of healthcare experience.
  • Previous infection prevention experience is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospital epidemiology principles.
  • Strong communication skills for educating staff.
