About The Position

Industry 4.0 Engineer Eaton’s Electrical Sector America is currently seeking a I4.0 Engineer based onsite at our PDCA (Power Distribution & Control Assemblies) manufacturing facility in El Paso, TX. We're in the midst of a significant transformation - the digital transformation of manufacturing. The 4th industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0, is the automation of traditional manufacturing practices using digital technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, additive manufacturing, factory simulation and augmented and virtual reality. Manufacturing models are becoming autonomous and using algorithms and machine learning to become “smart.”

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Must be proficient in both English and Spanish
  • Minimum of Three (3) months of experience working in an engineering capacity within a manufacturing environment
  • Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX to be considered. Active-Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in I4.0 solutions (ie. Additive Mfg., real time OEE, Digital Work Instructions, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Traceability, Machine Learning AI, Simulation, Collaborative Robots, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Augmented Reality, System Integration).
  • Experience in CAD modeling.
  • Proficient with computer and software tools – including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.)
  • Ability to setup industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these into the existing IT infrastructure
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, assembly & test, as well as materials management and quality processes
  • Analytical and critical thinking – necessary for identification of issues and potential troubleshooting.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders).
  • Good problem-solving capability.

Responsibilities

  • Support major projects to deploy Industry 4.0 tools & technologies into manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects as required –Operational Excellence, Production, Quality.
  • Support Industry 4.0 project objectives to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on strategic value streams.
  • Assist Industry 4.0 Senior Engineer in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.
  • Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives.
  • Develop knowledge & expertise in the industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the El Paso PDCA site teams.
  • Support Production as required.
