About the position

The Industrial Sales Professional at DXP Enterprises is responsible for driving sales of MROP products and services in Southern California, specifically focusing on technical troubleshooting and customer relationship management. This role involves meeting with existing customers, conducting sales presentations, and generating new business through cold calling and account management. The ideal candidate will possess technical knowledge of water treatment equipment and related brands, ensuring they can effectively address customer needs and enhance sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling appointments and meeting existing customers to review product requirements and identify opportunities.
  • Conducting effective sales presentations by meeting customers physically on a daily basis.
  • Designing professional demonstrations or presentations of company products or services on-site.
  • Liaising between the company and customers for updates on pricing, service, and product launches.
  • Generating and developing non-member business accounts to increase revenue through cold calling.
  • Updating customers on product modifications, changes, and enhancements.
  • Enhancing knowledge on new products and services by attending training meetings.
  • Maintaining professionalism and tact to portray the company positively.
  • Attending conferences and trade shows effectively.
  • Using marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness with relevant sales management tools.
  • Organizing joint sales calls with vendors and attending them.
  • Preparing sales and marketing reports and maintaining expense accounts.
  • Updating and maintaining customer accounts with contact information for future sales.
  • Providing product quotes to customers as needed.
  • Ensuring follow-up after passing leads to managers with complete customer information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to preserve confidential or sensitive information.
  • Special people skills to deal with customers and an outgoing personality.
  • Proven forecasting and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of water treatment equipment for cooling towers, boilers, wastewater, and agriculture.
  • Familiarity with brands such as LMI, Blue White, Seametrics, Myron L, Sensorex, Pyxis, Walchem.
