About The Position
Hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving production processes, supporting new product launches, and driving continuous improvement across a multi-SKU, semi-custom production environment. This role bridges engineering and operations—owning implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing / process engineering experience
- Experience in production environments (preferably high-mix / configurable products)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma
- Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus)
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar)
- Experience with tooling, fixtures, or sewn/assembly-based manufacturing
- Experience with problem analysis and resolution
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
- Requires good leadership skills and communication skills
- Ability to recommend and implement improvements
Responsibilities
- Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and variability
- Implement improvements to increase throughput, yield, and cost efficiency
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
- Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues
- Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions
- Maintain safe, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing systems
- Collaborate with operations and quality to resolve production issues
- Support transition of new products from design into production
- Assist in defining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling
- Partner with engineering and quality to ensure successful product launches
- Assist in design and fabrication of tooling, fixtures, and jigs
- Use CAD to create and update drawings and layouts
- Support development of efficient plant layouts and workflows
- Create and maintain technical process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
- Collect and analyze production data to measure performance improvements
- Prepare reports on process capability, efficiency, and quality trends
- Work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D on process improvements
- Support capital equipment evaluations and justification
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
