About The Position

Hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving production processes, supporting new product launches, and driving continuous improvement across a multi-SKU, semi-custom production environment. This role bridges engineering and operations—owning implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput, quality, and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing / process engineering experience
  • Experience in production environments (preferably high-mix / configurable products)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus)
  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Experience with tooling, fixtures, or sewn/assembly-based manufacturing
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
  • Requires good leadership skills and communication skills
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and variability
  • Implement improvements to increase throughput, yield, and cost efficiency
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
  • Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues
  • Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain safe, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing systems
  • Collaborate with operations and quality to resolve production issues
  • Support transition of new products from design into production
  • Assist in defining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling
  • Partner with engineering and quality to ensure successful product launches
  • Assist in design and fabrication of tooling, fixtures, and jigs
  • Use CAD to create and update drawings and layouts
  • Support development of efficient plant layouts and workflows
  • Create and maintain technical process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Collect and analyze production data to measure performance improvements
  • Prepare reports on process capability, efficiency, and quality trends
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D on process improvements
  • Support capital equipment evaluations and justification
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
