About the position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe and comfortable operating environment by directing the installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems throughout the facility. This role provides manufacturing support through maintenance, repair, and preventative services across the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Identify current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, tradesmen, technicians, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure smooth production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Facilitate product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications with design engineers, and coordinating activities of technicians and workers involved in fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment.
  • Provide heat, steam, electric power, gas, and air by directing the installation of, modifications to, and maintenance activities on utility systems.
  • Design, implement, and modify preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics, and inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems to ensure conformance with operational standards.
  • Resolve maintenance problems by conferring with management, engineering, and quality control personnel, and respond to maintenance calls in support of production and engineering staff and management.
  • Protect employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean working environment and complying with all Safety, Security, PPE, Ethical Behavior, and Code of Conduct procedures and protocols at all times.
  • Complete maintenance operational requirements as needed and perform tasks and special projects as assigned in a timely, quality-minded fashion.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, facilities support equipment, and physical plant.
  • Perform tasks and special projects as assigned in a timely, quality-minded fashion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Printed Circuit Board or similar manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience with installation and repair of manufacturing and facilities support equipment required (such as HVAC, Compressed Air, Chilled Water, DI Water, Vacuum, and Hydraulic Systems).
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting skills desirable.
  • Skilled in the use of standard hand, shop, and power tools.
  • Familiarity with the installation and repair of piping and plumbing systems using PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, copper, and iron/steel.
  • Ability to fabricate and weld in steel, stainless steel, and Polypropylene a plus.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Able to read and understand equipment manuals, schematics, shop drawings, blueprints, and written work instructions.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft products a plus.
  • Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System a plus.
  • Self-starter able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to fabricate and weld in steel, stainless steel, and Polypropylene.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft products.
  • Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
