About The Position

Maintenance Mechanics perform skilled work in the operation, predictive and preventative maintenance and repair of the facility’s real property, power industrial trucks, and plant utility systems. This is a full-time position with a pay range of $24.40 to $34.85/HR, commensurate with experience. The role requires adherence to all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, and GMP policies. Proactive involvement in daily plant operations, including setup and breakdown, is expected to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain product quality. The position involves completing daily log sheets, effective communication, and recognizing/reporting unsafe conditions or mechanical concerns. Assisting in maintaining an accurate mechanical inventory is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of maintenance work experience documented in work history OR 12 months of continuous work experience at the facility as an operator or lead OR be a graduate of a maintenance/HVAC training program OR possess a degree in a related field.
  • Less than four (4) attendance points.
  • No final attendance warnings in the previous six (6) months.
  • No written warnings for job performance in the previous six (6) months.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule if needed in a cold, wet, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees.
  • Must be willing and able to stand, sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel 67-100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to walk, talk and hear 67-100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to bend, squat and kneel 33-67% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to taste or smell 0-33% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to ascend and descend stairs 67-100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. 67-100% of the time, 50 lbs. 33-67% of the time and 100 lbs. 0-33% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to push/pull 300 lbs. 33-67% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, GMP policies.
  • Proactive in the daily plant operations as well as set up and/or breakdown.
  • Work to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain product quality.
  • Completes daily log sheets, communicates effectively, and is proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and/or other mechanical concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
  • Accurately and consistently change out parts.
  • Lubrication, conveyor belt repairs, power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, fork truck & pallet jack maintenance.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment in a timely manner.
  • Willing and able to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Willing and able to use measurement devices.
  • Willing and able to perform electrical and mechanical predictive and preventative maintenance as tasked.
  • Willing and able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
