About The Position

The Industrial Handler is part of FORJAK Industrial's Blast Plant Division. This role is responsible for the safe handling, movement, and preparation of all incoming and outgoing parts through the industrial blasting and coating facility. The goal is to keep production flowing efficiently and safely from the moment parts arrive to the moment they leave. This position is described as a career with a company that has employee ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in material handling in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment.
  • 1–2 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and telehandlers.
  • Basic knowledge of rigging and safe handling practices for heavy loads.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and use PPE consistently and correctly.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle parts of varying weights throughout an entire shift.
  • Must meet a weight restriction of 375 lbs or less to ensure compliance with ladder weight capacity and safe access to confined spaces within the blast plant's metal components.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A team-first attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of forklift, scissor lift, and crane operation experience.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing settings involving handling, cleaning, or preparing metal components.
  • Confined space entry training or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Safely handle parts ranging from 1 lb to 200,000 lbs of various sizes and dimensions, applying proper rigging techniques using slings, straps, and chains.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, telehandlers, and tugs to load, unload, and transport parts within and outside the facility safely and efficiently.
  • Stage and move parts on carts and transport systems throughout the plant to keep production flowing without interruption.
  • Power wash and degrease all incoming parts to properly prepare metal components for the blasting process, ensuring surfaces are clean and ready to spec.
  • Apply masking to parts to protect specific areas from blasting and coating, following project specifications precisely.
  • Complete a daily safety checklist, inspecting tools and equipment at the start of each shift to maintain safety and operational standards before production begins.
  • Enforce strict PPE compliance at all times—goggles, gloves, harnesses, and any other required safety equipment are non-negotiable in this environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety and work policies.
  • Remain flexible, taking on miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving organizational needs.
