About The Position

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining the bill of material, bill of operations, manufacturing time studies, and process flow analysis. They will lead process improvement projects and customer sample orders to assist in new business development. The role also involves preparing AutoCAD drawings for production and customer requests, and updating existing SKU drawings. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining standard routings and bill of materials in the AX system, understanding all manufacturing processes including setup times, and leading the product costing process in conjunction with the plant controller. The engineer will review labor efficiencies for future routing improvements, take the lead in the sample order workflow, and perform time studies on manufacturing processes. They will also perform data mining of past production work orders, work with the Production Supervisor using lean principles, and assist in the design layout for production lines and warehouses. The role involves initiating Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), coordinating with various departments on new and existing construction methodologies, preparing and updating AutoCAD drawings, and participating in Safety, Environment, and ISO initiatives. Other related duties as requested by the Manager will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Engineering, Preferably Industrial Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in product cost development in a manufacturing environment
  • AutoCAD experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma
  • Preferred knowledge of filter media construction and raw materials used for its production.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain standard routings and bill of materials in AX system for manufactured products.
  • Understand all manufacturing processes including setup times.
  • Lead, in conjunction with plant controller, the Product Costing Process (Qtest) including Product Configurator process, system updates and work with programmers on improvements as needed.
  • Review labor efficiencies on existing product construction for future routing improvements.
  • Take the Lead in the sample order workflow process to coordinate with production, sales, sourcing, and quality departments.
  • Perform time studies on manufacturing processes to validate routings and identify process improvement areas.
  • Perform data mining of past production workorders.
  • Work with Production Supervisor using lean principles such as lean six sigma and Kaizen.
  • Assist in the design layout for production lines and warehouse to improve space utilization, automation, and work center flow.
  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and submit for review and approval.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor, Technical Sales, Master Scheduler and production personnel on new and existing construction methodologies as it relates to cost and manufacturing processes to include equipment improvements.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings for production on new SKU’s, update existing SKU drawings as applicable.
  • Work with sales and technical to develop customer approval drawings, on customer supplied filters for quoting/manufacturing purposes.
  • Active participant or resource for Safety, Environment, and ISO.
  • Perform other relates duties as requested by Manager.
