About the position

Do you feel energized from designing, running, testing and upgrading engineering systems and processes? Then the Industrial Engineer is the job for you! Join our growing team in Middletown, PA to support our future plans! As an Industrial Engineer, you will provide leadership and support to Continuous Improvement initiatives at the plant level, including work studies to analyze work systems, developing standards, allowances and/or improvements to existing systems, and providing input for the development of functional layouts that minimize space, material transit, distance, and provide flexibility for expansion. You will utilize simulation software to analyze and/or improve work systems and assess ergonomic factors in work systems to provide solutions that minimize Repetitive Motion Injuries (RMI). Additionally, you will develop and implement lean engineering tools, review work methods, and document process methods, conducting analysis and making recommendations to improve labor utilization, material flow, and capacity planning. You will also provide input for the development of Process FMEA's and Control Plans for existing and potential work systems, research and justify capital expenditures, and support various initiatives such as STD Work, 5s, TPM, JIT, and Mistake Proofing. Updating layouts using Auto CAD LT and maintaining Bill of Materials will also be part of your responsibilities. You will assist in new business launches and work scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, including weekends and evenings when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to Continuous Improvement initiatives at the plant level.

  • Assess ergonomic factors in work systems and provide design solutions to minimize RMI.
  • Develop and implement lean engineering tools and review work methods.
  • Conduct analysis and make recommendations to improve labor utilization, material flow, and capacity planning.
  • Utilize and analyze Lean Standards in everyday assignments.
  • Provide input for the development of Process FMEA's and Control Plans.
  • Research, justify, and recommend the purchase of capital expenditures.
  • Support STD Work, 5s, TPM, JIT, and Mistake Proofing.
  • Update layouts using Auto CAD LT.
  • Maintain and update Bill of Materials.
  • Assist in new business launches.
  • Work scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline required.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience performing Industrial Engineering techniques and time studies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong computer skills including design, drawing, presentation, and Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution and analysis of variance.
