About the position
The Independent Life Skills Instructor role at Stepping Stone Resources Group involves providing support and transportation to adults with intellectual disabilities. This part-time position is ideal for individuals looking to supplement their income while making a positive impact in the lives of others. The role requires dependable individuals who can inspire and motivate students through life skills learning activities.
Responsibilities
- Drive company van to pick up and drop off students within a 10-mile radius of Fallbrook.
- Log miles and notes after every ride.
- Work Monday through Friday from 08:00 am to 09:15 am and 1:45 pm to 3:00 pm, totaling 12 to 15 hours per week.
- Collaborate with other instructors to execute individualized care plans.
- Offer direct support in community-based activities.
Requirements
- Experience as a driver in rideshare services such as Uber, Lyft, Postmates, etc.
- Valid California Driver's License and valid California auto insurance policy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive and transport individuals for community-based interactions.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- CPR Certification
- 1 year of direct care/caregiving experience
- Previous experience with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
