About the position

Applerouth Education is seeking passionate in-home, one-on-one test prep tutors to provide educational support in the Western DC/MD metro area. The role involves working with students to prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT, utilizing custom lesson plans and industry-leading materials. Tutors will receive paid training and ongoing support to enhance their teaching strategies and stay updated on test changes. This position is ideal for individuals who are empathetic, creative, and possess strong communication skills, with a focus on fostering student growth and success.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one test prep tutoring in students' homes or mutually agreed locations.
• Create custom lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
• Utilize industry-leading materials for SAT and ACT preparation.
• Participate in paid training to gain knowledge of SAT/ACT content and pedagogical strategies.
• Engage in regular supplemental training to stay updated on test changes and teaching methods.

Requirements

• At least one year of college education.
• Access to reliable transportation for commuting to students' homes.
• High-speed internet connection for online resources and communication.
• SAT, ACT, or other standardized test scores to demonstrate proficiency.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus.
