About the position
The Immigration Paralegal will provide essential legal support to attorneys specializing in immigration law. This part-time role involves researching immigration laws, preparing legal documents, and assisting with client interactions, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing immigration documents for EOIR and the BIA.
- Conduct research on immigration laws and regulations.
- Draft legal documents such as briefs, motions, and appeals.
- Interview clients to obtain information for legal documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and court appearances.
- Provide legal advice to clients on immigration matters.
- Keep up-to-date on changes in immigration laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a relevant field.
- 3 years of experience in immigration law.
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Westlaw
- Fluency in Spanish
