About the position
Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Mandarin language teacher to provide one-to-one general Mandarin Chinese classes for a client in New York. The role involves teaching a total of 22 hours, with classes scheduled for two hours once a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays. The ideal candidate should be flexible with location and timing, as classes can be held at the teacher's office, home, or a public location in New York.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-to-one Mandarin Chinese classes for a beginner-level student.
- Prepare lesson plans tailored to the student's needs and motivations.
- Ensure classes are held at a mutually agreed location and time.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the student's availability.
Requirements
- Be a native speaker of Mandarin or hold a teaching degree.
- Have experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
- Possess a valid working visa.
- Live within 20 miles of the client's location.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience teaching Mandarin to beginners.
