About the position

The I&E Supervisor at Clean Harbors is responsible for overseeing the instrumentation and electrical operations within the facility, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role involves hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC logic programming, while also supporting the electrical and maintenance departments to minimize downtime. The supervisor will lead a team, ensuring compliance with safety practices and maintaining accurate records of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions, performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations using manufacturers manuals and electronic testing equipment
  • Maintains accurate records and logs as required of calibration checks
  • Installs new systems and controls including power wiring, electrical and CEMS
  • Responsible for all aspects of the plant control system, HC900 PLC, Wonderware Intouch HMI, and Wonderware Historian (including programming), HMI graphics, troubleshooting, backups, documentation, etc.
  • Installs cabling, power distribution systems, motor control centers, service and replace motors, lighting, and performs general electrical maintenance work
  • May require scheduled on-call work during off-hours
  • Follows safe and compliant working procedures
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

Requirements

  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License OR equivalent from another state required
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of lead, supervisory, or management experience
  • 3 years Programming experience in DCS systems
  • 3 years PLC Logic Programming experience
  • 5 plus years of Industrial electrical experience preferred
  • Proficient in reading blueprint, electronic schematics and PID's (process instrumentation diagrams)
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Ability to influence MS Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to work off-hours and on call when plant goes has shutdowns
