About the position

The HVAC Truck Based Controls Technician is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of HVAC control systems. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction through direct interaction and mentoring of mechanical technicians on building automation activities. The technician will also be involved in troubleshooting complex control systems and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of HVAC control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions.
  • Provide sketches of field changes for engineering corrections.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and meet regularly with customers to understand operating problems.
  • Keep customers informed on service provided and recommend system enhancements.
  • Promote the sale of add-on work and manage assigned work for professional execution.
  • Report problems or changes to management immediately.
  • Interface with branch manager and other project managers to coordinate activities.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and provide safety awareness on worksites.
  • Provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations.
  • Compile job documentation such as completion certificates and training forms.
  • Conduct self-study to improve technical proficiency in the company's product lines.

Requirements

  • Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field.
  • Three years of industry experience or five years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in HVAC.
  • Knowledge of HVAC control systems and facilities management systems.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers.
  • Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Leadership skills to support mechanics on non-complex building automation equipment.
  • PC experience and ability to program HVAC related software.
