HVAC MECHANIC

About the position

The Maintenance position involves installing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment. The role also includes overseeing the operation and repair of Facility Building Automation Equipment. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with additional hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust building automation programming to include HVAC, lighting, and door controls.
• Perform basic repairs to all equipment related to building automation.
• Properly design and size an HVAC&R system.
• Troubleshoot and repair, or replace HVAC&R components as necessary.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Assist with snow removal.
• Respond to after hour emergencies as required; carry and respond to a departmental phone as necessary.
• Perform clerical tasks related to the position, including EPA regulations, as required and necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or his designee.
• Complete all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an HVAC&R Vocational Technical Training Program required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the HVAC&R trade and building automation operation preferred.
• EPA Certification for proper refrigerant practices required.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
