About the position

The HVAC Mechanic position at PCSI involves delivering high-quality service in a military installation environment. The role is part of a 7-person HVAC shop within a larger project team, focusing on facility operations and maintenance (O&M) and repair contracts. The ideal candidate should have experience working with diverse groups, including veterans and individuals with disabilities, and will be responsible for executing maintenance orders, training fellow mechanics, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance orders (PMOs), demand maintenance orders (DMOs), and individual job orders (IJOs) as assigned by the HVAC Mechanic Lead.
  • Participate in the site's training program until fully qualified and may be assigned as a task trainer.
  • Complete all job-related documents, including daily timecards and Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
  • Research catalogs and the internet to find suitable replacement parts.
  • Comply with company and site requirements for the care and maintenance of government and company property.
  • Execute installation, O&M, and repair of HVAC, steam and condensate, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
  • Perform complex installation tasks involving assembly, testing, calibrating, and adjusting of temperature control and environmental control systems.
  • Install new or repaired components and perform complex modifications of systems and components.
  • Perform complex repair of components such as compressors, condensers, and heat pump regulators.
  • Be on-call for after-hours emergency calls and respond within 2 hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
