About The Position

Trademasters is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join our team who will support operations and maintenance activities at GSA distribution warehouse facilities. The HVAC Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation support for commercial HVAC systems and related building mechanical equipment. This position requires a skilled technician who can work independently, maintain high standards of safety and quality, and ensure reliable operation of critical facility systems. We are looking for a dependable HVAC professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and maintaining mission-critical building systems. Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and building operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical HVAC components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems and EPA requirements.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and industrial facility environments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required federal facility access/badging.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Journeyman’s, Masters license or certification or technical training.
  • Experience supporting federal, military, industrial, or large commercial facilities.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including: Air handling units (AHUs), Package units, Rooftop units (RTUs), Split systems, Chillers and associated components, Pumps, fans, motors, belts, bearings, and controls
  • Diagnose HVAC equipment issues using technical manuals, schematics, meters, and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-related HVAC problems.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust HVAC components to restore proper operation.
  • Perform inspections and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Support building automation system (BAS) monitoring and troubleshooting as required.
  • Perform filter changes, coil cleaning, lubrication, belt adjustments, and equipment alignment.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance situations.
  • Document work performed, parts used, equipment conditions, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards, site procedures, and federal facility requirements.
  • Coordinate with customers, supervisors, and other trades to complete assigned work.
