About the position

Newcomb and Company is a full-service mechanical contractor providing innovative, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning services, automation and controls, industrial piping, new-construction design and installation, and maintenance and replacement services. The position involves the installation of Residential and Light Commercial Type HVAC duct systems and equipment, including packaged units, split system equipment, central station air handlers, exhaust fans, and various types of air distribution systems. The role requires maintaining excellent communication with customers and supervising field personnel on larger jobs. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be physically capable of performing job duties in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Install Residential and Light Commercial HVAC duct systems and equipment.
  • Supervise and support field personnel on larger jobs when necessary.
  • Maintain communication between Newcomb and Company and customers.
  • Review job packages and coordinate information with field personnel.
  • Perform installation services for residential and light commercial installations.
  • Maintain quality of workmanship and installation standards as set by the company.
  • Work in outdoor weather and temperature extremes as designated by company policy.
  • Coordinate material orders and deliveries with warehouse manager and project managers.
  • Prepare paperwork pertinent to installation projects.
  • Work safely and abide by company safety policies.
  • Secure an EPA refrigerant certificate within company guidelines.
  • Startup installed equipment, confirming wiring, refrigerant charging, and safety procedures.
  • Complete timesheets on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Maintain assigned tools and vehicles in top condition.
  • Monitor job sites to ensure a safe workplace and report safety violations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC installation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather and temperature extremes.
  • Physical fitness to lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Familiarity with safe operation of tools and equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • EPA refrigerant certificate (or ability to secure one within company guidelines).
