About the position

The Kentucky Department of Corrections can offer you the chance to be the navigator of change while you help expose clients to the many treatment modalities and opportunities offered by the Division of Addiction Services. As a Human Services Program Supervisor, you will oversee programs vital to the mission of the Division of Addiction Services, provide innovative change in ongoing programs and supervise clinical staff in the community that work with offenders on Probation and Parole. With approximately 6000 treatment opportunities across the state, the possibilities are limitless for your professional development and growth. The Human Services Program Supervisors serve as a critical point of contact for the Division of Addiction Services and a liaison for the Department of Corrections. Our Program Supervisors provide guidance and direction in a specific area of supervision while providing oversight to the change agents working in the field. Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical oversight of all aspects of the client care continuum ensuring clients are receiving quality care.
  • Reviews complex cases, makes recommendations for clients care and ensures that all the appropriate documentation is in the clinical file.
  • Implements and enforces, assists in review and development of policies and procedures within Division of Addiction Services.
  • Ensures that all staff are informed of procedural and or program changes and assist them in navigating those changes.
  • Supervises and coordinates the work of assigned staff. Approves overtime, leave requests, timesheets and conducts performance evaluations. Assists in the recruitment, training and retention of staff.
  • Monitors compliance with contracted programs that provide addiction treatment to clients within the Department of Corrections.
  • Ensures all clinical staff comply with the Substance Abuse Counselor Code of Ethics and adhere to all Division and Corrections Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of professional experience in the administration of human services programs, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field.
  • A master's degree in social work, health administration, labor relations, public or business administration or related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Administrative or business experience, or professional, subprofessional, or clerical work in a human services area, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
