About the position

SmithGroup is looking for a Human Resources Representative to join our team. This position will be based in our Denver, CO office and will support our Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Phoenix offices. As a Human Resources Representative, you will play a crucial role in performing benefits and payroll administration, which includes the enrollment of new benefits, claims resolution, change reporting, and effectively communicating information to employees and candidates. You will also maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compile reports from the database, ensuring that all employee data is accurate and up-to-date. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service for employees regarding benefits, payroll, and company policies. You will be responsible for tracking and screening candidate credentials, coordinating interview scheduling, and leading the onboarding process for new employees. This includes coordinating and/or conducting new hire orientation, E-Verify, state new hire reporting, new hire training, and entering new hire paperwork into the HRIS database. Additionally, you will develop and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all local personnel, assisting with firmwide initiatives, including the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. You will participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems, and design, administer, and maintain specific HR-related programs as needed. Providing employee relations counseling and serving as a coaching resource will also be part of your responsibilities. You will advise operational managers on HR, HR law, and employee-related issues while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Responsibilities

  • Perform benefits and payroll administration including enrollment of new benefits, claims resolution, and change reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field, preferred.
  • 3 - 6 years HR-related experience or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ability to pay attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitivity towards confidential information is a must.
  • The ability to set priorities, multitask and work independently.
  • Proficiency in HRIS system maintenance and file management in a professional setting; Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy is required.
  • Working knowledge of UltiPro and talent management software applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
