About the position

The Human Resources Manager at Mauser Packaging Solutions is responsible for providing leadership and support in all HR-related functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. This role emphasizes the importance of effective communication and relationship-building with both management and employees, ensuring a positive workplace environment while adhering to legal and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides coaching, leadership and support to managers and employees regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, questions and concerns.
  • Leads and manages all employment practices including recruitment, orientation, professional development, promotions, transfers, terminations, and temporary agency utilization.
  • Administers various human resource policies for the site, ensuring consistency in attendance and disciplinary policies.
  • Acts as employee advocate and mediator for employee relations concerns and handles HR legal issues as required.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements; conducts investigations and maintains records.
  • Participates in employee disciplinary and/or counseling issues with supervision as necessary; reviews any disciplinary documentation as it may apply.
  • Manages performance review process and ensures employee training includes competency development plans.
  • Administers all employee benefit and payroll programs, coordinating with corporate as necessary; assists employees with payroll inquiries.
  • Recruits all salaried exempt/non-exempt, hourly, part-time, and agency employees.
  • Ensures effective employee onboarding and orientation, following up as necessary.
  • Utilizes excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with all levels of management and employees.
  • Maintains positive employee relations in general.
  • Actively participates and leads the plant safety program, managing all safety-related documentation including accident reporting and OSHA documentation/record-keeping.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource related field; M.S. degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience; manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English required.
  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities by partnering with business leaders in a fast-paced, changing operations environment.
  • Knowledge of HR labor and employment law and the ability to interpret, apply and articulate this knowledge in support of business initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to present, influence, negotiate, and effectively coach managers and supervisors to use the company's best practices.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to express opinions in a professional manner; strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Good organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Prior experience in union or non-union environments as applicable.
