About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Elwyn serves as a vital internal consultant to operational leadership, focusing on human resource-related issues. This role emphasizes employee development, change management, and effective HR communications, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and operational goals. The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention while maintaining compliance with employment regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an internal consultant to operational leadership on HR-related issues.
  • Support the organization's core values and operational goals by advising on HR strategies and best practices.
  • Consult with operational leadership to improve work relationships and implement employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide performance management guidance to operational leadership.
  • Participate in regular meetings with operational unit leaders to discuss HR policies and trends.
  • Assist in the selection and recommendation of new hires and promotions.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
  • Assist with the management and resolution of complex employee relations issues.
  • Educate operational leadership and employees on HR policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field preferred.
  • Four years of experience in human resources principles, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Human resources certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer interaction, negotiation, collaboration, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in non-profit human services organizations.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with HRMS, preferably ADP platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment law and compliance.
