About the position

The objective of this position is to provide human resources services to employees in the following areas: internship program, intern records management, intern communications, and intern transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, and compose regular correspondence.
  • Responsible for all aspects and coordination and implementation of the Summer Internship Program.
  • Identify recruitment opportunities for sourcing interns.
  • Post and maintain intern jobs on Loop's website and external websites (i.e. university sites and Handshake).
  • Support the college relations system by collaborating with career services from various schools; coordinate internship events and participate in on-campus recruiting events (out of town travel is required).
  • Recruit and interview interns.
  • Maintain internal databases for candidate recruitment processes by creating spreadsheets for tracking applicants.
  • Coordinate intern candidate interviews with business units.
  • Participate in intern selection process.
  • Prepare all paperwork for interns onboarding and off-boarding.
  • Organize and lead intern orientation program.
  • Prepare/update internship handbooks and guides.
  • Act as day-to-day Human Resources contact for all interns.
  • Assist with preparing guides and manuals to assist with the administration of HR-related policies and procedures.
  • Provide general office clerical support.
  • Assist interns with general questions.
  • Update Internships Newsletters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.
  • One to two years' experience in HR (as intern or full-time) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HR functional areas (Benefits Administration, Payroll, Employee Relations, Staffing, etc.), human resources information systems (HRIS), human resource software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Recruiting experience is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of employment law, compensation, organization planning, training and organization development.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong to advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, including ability to present information in forms, tables, spreadsheets and Power Point.
  • Ability to manage meeting set-up and facilitation in Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical, qualitative and detail-oriented skills.
  • Sound judgment, confident and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to forecast potential human resource issues and be proactive in resolution.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects simultaneously while planning work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function as part of a team or work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and vendors, including C-Suite.
  • Willingness to travel.
