About the position

The part-time Human Resources Coordinator will support the HR department's operations, focusing on new hire processes, employee records management, and employee relations. This role is suitable for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, with opportunities for career advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer drug screens and ensure all required background checks are completed and approved before new hires attend orientation.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and assist with the preparation of reports as needed.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department, including assistance with workers compensation and leave of absence tracking.
  • Participate in and assist with planning and execution of special events such as job fairs, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.
  • Act as a backup for the HR Director as appropriate with proper training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or related experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management tools.
