About the position

We are seeking an HR Business Partner (based in Elgin, Illinois) to oversee various human resources programs including payroll, compensation, compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources for the Americas, this role has responsibility for HR operations and HR business partnerships within the Americas. The HR Business Partner will directly influence and impact the culture of a rapidly growing organization that is made up of staff in professional, production and warehouse roles. The HR Business Partner will have people management responsibilities and provide general guidance and support in all facets of Human Resources. The HR Business Partner will be a change agent who will continuously improve and evolve a positive culture where employee engagement and experience are paramount, and customer service, agility, and innovation are embraced.

Responsibilities

  • Advise, coach and partner with senior leaders and managers on people and talent matters by contributing valuable insights, ideas and feedback, and challenging the status quo as necessary
  • Manage and continually enhance the compensation planning process, including benchmarking
  • Manage and continually enhance the performance management review process
  • Manage employee relations matters through direct counsel with leaders and employees, including coordination with external counsel as necessary
  • Manage immigration matters including coordination with legal, government and global resources, as well as external counsel
  • Support the Vice President of Human Resources to establish a shared service organization across the region
  • Work with the Vice President of Human Resources to contribute to the development and implementation of region HR initiatives
  • Partner with global HR Centers of Excellence and in-region HR on key projects, including responsibility for the roll out of respective modules in new HRIS implementation
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures and recommend necessary changes to remain in compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll for accuracy and serve as back-up for payroll processing, reporting and data entry into JE template
  • Assist with benefit plan renewal by evaluating existing plans, making proposals for improvements based on market best practices and managing open enrollment process
  • Oversee the development and implementation of company-wide wellness initiatives (newsletters, webinars, activities, etc.)
  • Conduct exit interviews and suggest changes to management based on feedback
  • Assist in the coordination and planning of company events
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably with a focus on HR or a business-related field
  • At least five years of related HR Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of production and warehouse employees' needs
  • Self-driven and proactive, always looking for ways to optimize efficiencies while focused on internal customer satisfaction
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Strong presentation, meeting/workshop facilitation, and written communication skills
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel in the Americas region (<10%)
