About the position

The Human Resources Business Partner at United Natural Foods Inc. is responsible for executing HR strategies and initiatives that support the organization's goals. This role involves building effective relationships with business leaders, optimizing human capital, and providing counsel across all levels of the organization. The HR Business Partner will focus on areas such as talent development, workforce planning, employee engagement, and compliance with HR policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective working relationships with business leaders.
  • Leverage understanding of business needs to optimize human capital.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal partners across all levels.
  • Provide coaching to individual contributors to enhance their success.
  • Participate in supervisor, management, and staff meetings.
  • Review metrics to derive insights for solving business problems.
  • Implement workforce and talent agenda in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
  • Execute effective onboarding strategies for new hires.
  • Drive employee engagement efforts through feedback surveys and action plans.
  • Handle basic employment relations issues and escalate as necessary.
  • Execute assigned HR functions accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and update HRIS records and associate files.
  • Manage and track leaves of absence and accommodation requests.
  • Implement Affirmative Action Plan and goals where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR PHR/SPHR/CHRL/CPHR Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Federal, state/province and local employment laws.
  • Understanding of talent acquisition techniques, including recruitment and interviewing skills.
  • Understanding of compensation and benefit policies and employee relations practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and reporting tools.
