About the position

The Human Resources Assistant at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This position involves a variety of clerical and administrative tasks aimed at enhancing the efficiency of HR functions, particularly in the onboarding process and employee support. Responsibilities

  • Organizing the new hire process, including scheduling and administering pre-hire screenings, preparing and tracking paperwork, and communicating orientation expectations.
  • Assisting with new team member orientation by communicating benefits and policies to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives.
  • Organizing and filing documents into team member files.
  • Examining files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Coordinating the status change process, including benefit life changes, badges, and finalizing documents and employee files.
  • Assisting the Benefits/Risk Manager in benefits and Pension Plan administration in accordance with plan design and third-party record keeping.
  • Answering questions regarding benefits, eligibility, and other pertinent information.
  • Explaining policies, procedures, and benefits to team members and job applicants.
  • Assisting with and/or administering special projects, helping develop, implement, and maintain goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned projects and service areas.
  • Assisting with recognition programs and special events, including team member generated activities such as recognition/retiree programs and holiday celebrations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent work-related experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Human Resources practices.
  • Organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and utilize time efficiently.
  • Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
