About the position

The Human Resources Assistant position at Moravia Health is a full-time role based in Philadelphia, PA, focused on supporting the HR functions within a home care agency. The role requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish and involves various HR responsibilities, including maintaining personnel records, conducting reference checks, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and agency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reference checks for potential hires.
  • Participate in the development of screening tools/tests for applicants.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system and necessary compliance statistics.
  • Keep personnel records for agency staff up to date.
  • Complete personnel files at the time of hire.
  • Ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements and complies with local and federal laws.
  • Maintain employee confidentiality and secure storage of files.
  • Perform job duties in compliance with agency policies and professional standards.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication to achieve agency goals.
  • Participate in agency/team meetings as required.
  • Assist in agency orientation programs and develop materials for new hires.
  • Perform other activities and duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in personnel management or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in human resource coordination, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including ADA and civil rights requirements.
  • Knowledge of employment benefits and experience in workers' compensation claims.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, documentation skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for personnel in home health care.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service (4 years preferred).
