About the position

The Human Resources Manager at Carbon by Design LLC plays a crucial role in supporting the executive team and managing the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This position involves addressing complex HR issues, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, managing recruitment processes, and overseeing employee relations and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solutions to complex employee HR issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local legal requirements, including employee training.
  • Manage full cycle recruitment and partner with multiple agencies to fulfill recruitment needs.
  • Negotiate new and existing contracts with agencies as needed.
  • Conduct investigations regarding formal complaints or employee relation issues.
  • Provide advice and guidance on employment matters to management.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee information in ERP and HRIS systems.
  • Manage inquiries regarding leave of absences, unemployment, and Worker's Comp claims.
  • Keep the company security badge access system updated along with Visual Compliance.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Process employment verifications and keep management informed of significant problems.
  • Manage Benefit Administration, including COBRA, and coordinate open enrollment with the insurance broker.
  • Communicate enrollment changes to carriers and reconcile monthly invoices.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees and weekly payroll for temp staff, reconciling invoices associated with the temp workforce.
  • Participate as a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures.
  • Manage and complete multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or equivalent education and training.
  • Human Resource Management Certification, PHR, or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • At least 3 years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing setting required.
  • Bilingual - Spanish required.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms, preferably ADP Vantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and CA employment laws.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity to handle sensitive situations.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to guide all levels of employees.
  • Highly skilled in MS Office programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
