About the position

The Human Resource Consultant 3 (HRC3) position at Green Hill School is a non-permanent role focused on providing comprehensive HR support within a maximum security Juvenile Rehabilitation Institution. The consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring that the agency's core values of inclusion, respect, integrity, compassion, and transparency are upheld while safeguarding children and reinforcing families. This position involves offering guidance on HR matters, consulting on employee conduct, and participating in grievance processes, all aimed at fostering a safe and healthy environment for Washington's youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial HR guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on human resource matters.
  • Consult with employees and supervisors on FMLA and Shared Leave-related issues.
  • Review, analyze, and advise on employee conduct and performance issues.
  • Research and provide information for litigation, arbitration, and disciplinary case preparation.
  • Provide labor relations guidance in partnership with the Labor Relations unit.
  • Participate in grievance hearings and advise management throughout the grievance process.
  • Coordinate with the centralized recruitment team and assist in recruitments.

Requirements

  • Equivalent education and experience totaling six (6) years of progressively responsible, paid, professional experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in business, human resources, or related field from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of professional human resource experience that includes one year of Human Resource Information System processing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of HR-related WACs, RCWs, Federal laws, agency policies and procedures, and CBAs.
  • Six (6) months or more experience using NeoGov and HRMS.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, or other professional HR certification.
  • Lead/supervisory experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $4,897 - $6,705 a month.
  • Potential for additional 5% premium for in-person employees at the institution.
