About the position

The HRIS Business Analyst II plays a critical role in enhancing the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) at Florida International University. This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, writing detailed functional specifications, and ensuring that system functionalities align with user expectations. The analyst will apply expertise in user testing to validate system enhancements and identify areas for improvement, while also providing ongoing support and training to end users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather detailed requirements.
  • Develop and document functional specifications, translating business needs into clear technical documentation.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system reliability and usability.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and scenarios for UAT, ensuring thorough testing of system functionalities prior to implementation.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of training materials and user guides for end users.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to existing and new system functionalities, documenting resolutions and enhancing support processes.
  • Review and resolve concerns regarding software functionality, providing in-depth analysis and documentation of complex system issues.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of documentation and user data in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide production support including problem analysis and resolution, maintaining clear documentation of issues and solutions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to coordinate and document solutions for system-related problems.
  • Create SQL queries for end users as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in HRIS or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least one year of designing, developing, and reporting experience with ERP HR systems (e.g. Peoplesoft, Workday, SAP).
