About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving will collaborate with Brand Central, Corporate Division Management and employees to promote organizational growth and employee satisfaction. This role will involve implementing HR strategies, creating standard operating procedures, managing employee relations and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update HR policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws.
  • Communicate and educate employees on company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across all locations.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, addressing workplace issues promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a Fun, Safe, Winning work culture and employee engagement.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies and practices.
  • Partner with Recruiting and Hiring Managers to identify staffing gaps and needs.
  • Assist with job descriptions, conduct market research on salary bands and create scorecards for all roles.
  • Involvement in all recruiting and hiring efforts for the Corporate Division.
  • Support managers in creating performance improvement plans (PIPs) and tracking employee progress.
  • Provide recommendations for training and development opportunities.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and compensation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and file reports related to employment, such as EEO, OSHA, and other compliance requirements.
  • Monitor workplace safety practices and support compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Identify training needs and partner with our Training and Development Team to organize and employ professional development programs.
  • Support leadership development initiatives and succession planning.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and suggest improvements.
  • Collect and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making and improve HR strategies.
  • Generate reports on key HR metrics, such as employee turnover, absenteeism, and engagement levels.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a Human Resources role required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in benefits administration, payroll processing, or employee relations is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze HR metrics and generate reports for leadership.
  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
