About the position

The HR Specialist at Cabela's will lead various HR initiatives to support store leadership and Outfitters, focusing on staffing, training, engagement, and administrative excellence. This role is essential in ensuring a positive work environment and effective onboarding processes while assisting the General Manager with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers.
• Act as a brand ambassador to drive retention and a positive working environment.
• Facilitate the hiring/staffing process for hourly outfitters.
• Ensure training completion and monitoring for location outfitters.
• Process and audit all employment actions in HRIS/Payroll/Scheduling system for hourly outfitters.
• Maintain confidentiality with all sensitive information.
• Assist with planning and implementing associate recognition and activities in collaboration with the General Manager.
• Communicate all HR-related policies, practices, and directions from the company.
• Maintain compliance and record keeping (legal posters, notices, etc.).
• Provide guidance and support for performance management, annual review process, and succession planning for hourly outfitters.
• Respond to and resolve first-level outfitter issues, partnering with Sr. HRM or Employee Relations Department for escalation as needed.
• Perform administrative duties as needed, including processing invoices and managing expenses within Coupa.
• Order and monitor store supplies.
• Coordinate travel for store Outfitters and leaders.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources preferred.
• 1-3 years of human resources and administrative/office experience required.
• Ability to calculate figures and interpret data from reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
